Pateros is the only town left in Metro Manila; San Juan, Navotas, Malabon and Taguig have been declared cities within the past seven years. But don’t underestimate this small town.
Its local economy is as good and strong as its neighbor cities, businesses are booming, and its local officials are outstanding in terms of local services. This makes the 2010 local elections in Pateros very interesting, and its residents would surely have a tough decision to make.
Incumbent Mayor Joey Medina, Vice Mayor Jojo Sanchez and some councilors under their “Samahang Mas na Mas” ticket are running for re-election. A Capco reemerges, as Patrick Capco Umali, nephew of former Mayor Rosendo Capco, runs for Mayor. Former 1st District councilor Jojo Nicdao, without a running-mate, runs for Vice Mayor.
Meanwhile, we see again Ren-Ren Cayetano and former Pateros Coun. Arnel Cerafica vying for a Congressional seat, as Pateros is included in the 1st legislative district of Taguig (aka Taguig-Pateros).
Names in italics are incumbent candidates running for re-election.

* Some candidates, if not all, in the “Samahang Mas na Mas” ticket are associated with the Nacionalista Party.
