Hey guys!
I know the 2010 Elections was a successful one and it’s over nine months ago, but I believe the election results data is “underappreciated” and not fully evaluated, if not totally forgotten. Yes, we’ve elected people to public posts, but we don’t actually know how we voted, especially in the local level.
So, here’s a series inspired by elections in the US, and graphics in TIME Magazine.
I will create 81 infographics to show how each of the 79 provinces of the Philippines, Metro Manila and the whole country town-by-town voted last May 10.
Maps would indicate the candidate for President and Vice President who won in each town or city in a province. The top four Senators in each province would also be shown, as well as the election results for Governor, Vice Governor, Representative(s), and City and Town Mayors.

To kick off this series, we start with Ilocos Norte.
Pres. Aquino placed fourth in the province, while Vice Pres. Binay topped the VP race. The Marcoses sided with the Nacionalista Party, giving Sen. Manny Villar the win in Ilocos Norte.
Speaking of the Marcoses, they are back in full force. Nearly nine out of ten voters in Ilocos Norte voted for their former Governor, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., as Senator.
His sister, former Rep. Imee Marcos, trumped their cousin and re-electionist Gov. Michael Keon in the Gubernatorial race.
Former First Lady Imelda Marcos scored a decisive victory in the 2nd District Congressional race, defeating Mariano Nalupta, Jr. by nearly 80,000 votes. Imelda Marcos replaced her son, outgoing Rep. Bongbong Marcos.
Here’s what is written in the “Did You Know?” section of the infographic (I hope this is accurate):
Former First Lady Imelda Marcos returned to Congress in 2010 as Ilocos Norte’s 2nd District Representative. She was formerly Leyte’s 1st District Representative, from 1995 to 1998. This makes her the only person since 1986 to have represented two different districts in Congress.
The Fariñas clan also scored major victories in the province. Rodolfo Fariñas regained his seat in Congress as 1st District Representative, defeating Board Member Michel Ablan, the son of outgoing Rep. Roque Ablan, Jr. Michael Fariñas was re-elected as Mayor of Laoag City.
